About Dr. Cole

Sharon Cole, PT, DPT, MBA is a passionate Doctor of Physical Therapy who's interest in the human anatomy began while enrolled in a Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology enrichment program at Yale University in Connecticut. She continued her studies by completing both her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and her Master's degree in Healthcare Management from Saint Leo University in Florida, where she developed a lifelong interest in both the scientific aspects of human movement and the management aspect of the healthcare system.

 

Following her undergraduate and graduate education, Sharon pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) at The University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences in Florida. During her time in the DPT program, she participated in elective courses in manual therapy techniques, exercise for patients with orthopedic and neurological disorders and also chronic and acute pain treatments.

 

Dr. Cole is a well traveled Physical Therapist who has had training in the United States, Spain, Grenada, Ecuador and Jamaica. In these countries, Dr. Cole, trained in a variety of clinical settings, allowing her to effectively provide exceptional Physical Therapy services to all patients to reduce pain, increase quality of movement and improve overall quality of life.

 

One of Dr. Cole's final clinical rotations allowed her to train under both orthopedic and geriatric board-certified specialists at the Jacksonville VA Outpatient Clinic.

 

Dr. Cole has treated patients of all ages in a variety of clinical areas including post-operative, pre-operative, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, neurologic disorders and balance/vestibular disorders. She has taken additional coursework in Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Myofascial Decompression, Postural Restoration, Chronic Pain Management and plans to continue adding to her skillset throughout her career. She practices an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment, with a strong emphasis on therapeutic exercise,  functional manual therapy, postural stability, and patient education.
